f*ck the bandwagon
I learned very quickly that I didn`t care to follow the crowd. If I did something, it was on my own terms. F*ck the bandwagon. If there was a trend that I happened to really like, I wait it out to see if it`s really for me or if I just enjoy the content. Lol. I`m just super anti-trend because things become so oversaturated and hyped up that it loses its authenticity and feels so forced and fake on everyone. I see so many people rush to fit in with these trends for likes & views, and it becomes difficult to see who they really are. It`s just sad to see. I love myself enough to know that everything isn`t for me and it`s okay to be the oddball out.
But there are some trends that ya girl likes and I`m not afraid to hop on it after scoping the scenery out. Lol. I jumped on this trend, despite being a tad late: the Simonett “Nanu” top. I vlogged about it here and I do not regret this purchase at all. This top was well worth the money. It`s a top that has been duplicated to the max by independent boutiques. It`s so versatile and easy to style. I styled mine a few ways so far. One way can be seen in the previously linked video. I previously blogged about the other way (over a white tee).
Third way: I wore the top for my friend`s birthday celebration. I wanted to try tying it like a halter and it executed better than I imagined. I did have a few nip slips, though. I`m not sure if anybody peeped or not. Lol. I went for a neutral monochromatic look. Who doesn`t love a good monochromatic vibe?
TOP SIMONETT PANTS ZARA BOOTS MARGIELA BAG CELINÉ
I paired the top with one of my favorite pair of pants. I loved these ruched waisted pants! They literally looked good with everything. The relaxed fit was so perfect because it kept me comfortable, but also still had some sex appeal because it complimented my body shape. They stopped at the ankle, so they looked good cuffed, rolled or straight with sneakers, a boot, etc. I had these in two colors and man… I got my money`s worth, okay! Thanks Zara.
Had to tie it all together with my Tabi boots + Céline tote, of course. The Tabi`s are definitely a fan favorite in my house. The girls that get it, get it and I got it. Hehe. My sister absolutely hates them. She makes it known everytime she sees me in them. I understand why people don`t like them, but they`re the coolest shoe to me. Not always the comfiest, though… but cool. Lol.
Are there any trends that took you a while to get hip to? Do you have any items in your closet that your friends/family hate, but you love?
Top Simonett Wifebeater Hanes Pants Topshop
Fourth way: backwards over a white beater, because why not? Rugged with a touch of femininity. Kept it casual in some black wide leg trousers from Topshop via Nordstrom Rack. They were $24.97. Because I wore this to work and I walk a lot, I threw on my New Balance. Nobody has time for sore toes, okay!
